The Social Network wins Golden Globe best film
David Fincher's The Social Network has netted the Golden Globe's best film (drama) award at a star-studded event in the US last night.
The film held off stiff competition from Black Swan, The Fighter, Inception and The King's Speech to claim the prize, with Fincher also winning the best director award.
Colin Firth was named as the best drama actor for his role in The King's Speech, while Natalie Portman won the best drama actress accolade for Black Swan.
The best film in the musical or comedy category went to The Kids Are All Right, with the movie's Annette Bening taking home the best actress (musical or comedy) award.
Toy Story 3 was named as the winner of the best animated feature film, taking the accolade ahead of Despicable Me, How to Train your Dragon, The Illusionist and Tangled.
Overall, The Social Network took four accolades at the ceremony, including best screenplay.
The film is also up for a Critics Choice Award for best acting ensemble.
