Michael Caine: Dark Knight Rises' script to be finished shortly

The script for the latest film in the Batman series will be finished over the coming weeks, according to Michael Caine.

Caine, who will return to the role of butler Alfred for the Dark Knight Rises, told E! News that he had spoken to director Christopher Nolan about the script recently.

"I talked to Chris last week 'cause I said I hadn't gotten a script and he said, 'I haven't finished it.' And he said, 'I'll finish it in two weeks,'" the actor said.

The Oscar-winning star added that he is pleased with the current cast, which will include Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman.

He described Anne Hathaway's casting as Catwoman as "fabulous" and suggested that Tom Hardy will also be great in the role of Bane, noting that he is a tough British actor.

Caine has previously won Oscars for his roles in The Quiet American, as well as 1999's The Cider House Rules.
