Keanu Reeves: Bill & Ted 3 to include time travel

Keanu Reeves has revealed some of the plot details for the third instalment in the Bill & Ted franchise.

According to the Matrix actor, time travel will play a part in the new film, which follows on from 1989's Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and 1991's Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey.

The films, which starred Reeves, Alex Winter, George Carlin and William Sadler, told the story of two young teenagers, who were struggling to prepare a historical presentation and turned to a time machine in a bid to understand more.

Speaking to MTV, Reeves said that in the last film, the friends were supposed to have written a song which would save the world, but this didn't happen.

"So they've now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there's an element of time and they have to go back," he explained.

Reeves is currently filming 47 Ronin and will next be seen in Generation Em…, alongside Bojana Novakovic and Adelaide Clemens.
