Michael J Fox: I'm proud of Back to the Future

Michael J Fox has said he is very proud the Back to the Future movies continue to be popular, despite the last film being released more than two decades ago.

Fox took on the role of Marty McFly in the franchise, which tells of a teenager who travels through time.

Speaking to Good Housekeeping, the 49-year-old said he loves that people still watch the films.

"It's funny that a film about multigenerational relationships, characters over a span of generations, has become a film that's been popular over a span of generations," he told the publication.

"In fact, we're almost at the place in the future that Marty went to," he said, adding, however, that we don't have flying cars yet.

The first film in the franchise was released in 1985, followed by 1989's Back to the Future Part II. Back to the Future Part III was released in 1990.

They also starred Christopher Lloyd and Lea Thompson.
