Johnny Depp: I'll keep making Pirates of the Caribbean films
Johnny Depp has revealed that he plans to keep making Pirates of the Caribbean films for as long as people watch them.
Speaking at Cannes, the actor, who plays the lead role of Captain Jack Sparrow, said the films are ultimately made for people.
"It's the people who go and pay their hard-earned money to see these things. If the people get tired of it or something - that's when it stops, I think," he explained.
He said that if the films were made for the wrong reason, then the process would become impure.
Depp also described producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Rob Marshall as an "amazing and creative force".
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will be released in the UK tomorrow (May 18th). It stars Depp, Penelope Cruz and Ian McShane.
Depp has also starred in 2007's Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, 2006's Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl in 2003.
