Wild Hogs is tops at the box office

4 stars out of 5.0
Road-trip comedy Wild Hogs proved more popular than any other film at UK cinemas this week, earning a total of £1,691,797 after its release last Friday.

The movie, about four middle-aged men who embark on a motorcycle adventure, beat Mr Bean's Holiday into second place and Will Ferrell comedy Blades Of Glory into third - although neither are new entries in the chart supplied by ACNielsen.

Action thriller Shooter debuted at number four having grossed a total of £716,202, while historical epic 300, at number five, became the chart's longest runner in its fourth week of release.

Sunshine and Meet The Robinsons took sixth and eight places respectively, leaving the remaining three slots to be taken by new entries including Perfect Stranger, a murder mystery starring Halle Berry and Bruce Willis.

Meanwhile, tenth place was taken by Der Leben der Anderen - translated to The Lives Of Others - which won an Oscar for best foreign language film at this year's ceremony.
