Nicole Kidman and Ralph Fiennes in The Reader
The Reader, which tells the story of a young man who has an affair with an older woman only to find out later that she is guilty of horrendous crimes, is set in post-war Germany and will be produced by Anthony Minghella and Sydney Pollack.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Stephen Daldry will helm the project. He previously directed Billy Elliott and The Hours, which won Kidman an Oscar.
Meanwhile, Ralph Fiennes can currently be seen as Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Order of The Phoenix, although he recently exercised his comedic talents in Wallace & Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
He voiced the villainous Victor Quartermaine, alongside British stars such as Peter Kay, Helena Bonham Carter and Peter Sallis.
