Stagefright wrecked Salma Hayek's Aladdin debut
Actress Salma Hayek was once held down on a bed by theatre thugs and forced to go onstage after stagefright got the better of her before a production of Aladdin.
The Frida star was playing Princess Jasmine in the show and seconds before her big entrance she bolted for the exit, insisting she was too afraid to go on.
She recalls, "I didn't know I was going to be so terrified but when it was time for me to come out... I freaked out and I ran out of the theatre.
"They had to catch me and they threatened me, the Mexican owners. These thugs put me on this bed and held me down and said, 'One, two, three, go...' and they ran on the stage (with me)... It was so frightening."
