Reese Witherspoon 'Hollywood's highest female earner'
Witherspoon, who recently featured opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in Rendition, was placed at the top of the annual list by the Hollywood Reporter.
According to the industry magazine, she earns between $15 million and $20 million (£7.3 million and £9.73 million) per movie, while Angelina Jolie was named as the next highest-paid female star.
Cameron Diaz was placed third, having earned some $30 million from voicing Princess Fiona in Shrek The Third, with Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman fourth at $10 million per film.
Renee Zellweger, Sandra Bullock and Julia Roberts all followed Kidman, while Drew Barrymore was placed eighth and was reported to be on about $10 million to $12 million for each movie she makes.
Finally, Jodie Foster and Halle Berry rounded off the yearly chart, but the magazine suggested that up-and-coming stars such as Katherine Heigl and Rachel McAdams have recently seen their paycheques boosted as well.
