Branagh and Ifans all at sea in DJ film - not 'arf

Oscar-nominated actor Kenneth Branagh and Little Nicky star Rhys Ifans will team up for a new Richard Curtis-penned comedy about two 1960s pirate radio DJs on the high seas.

The Boat That Rocked will also be directed by Curtis, whose previous hits include Four Weddings And A Funeral, Love Actually and Notting Hill - which featured Ifans as Hugh Grant's flatmate Spike.

Also confirmed for the cast of the film is January Jones, who worked with Curtis on Love Actually. She has previously appeared in Anger Management with Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson, and 2005's The Three Burials Of Melquiades Estrada.

Working Title, the company behind Four Weddings as well as The Big Lebowski, Elizabeth: The Golden Age and Oscar-winner Dead Man Walking, will oversee the production, which is expected to begin in March.

In the meantime, Kenneth Branagh will soon be appearing alongside Tom Cruise, Stephen Fry and Bill Nighy in World War II drama Valkyrie, the story of an attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler at the Wolf's Lair base in 1944.
