Chan and Li floor the opposition at US box office
The film took over $20.8 million (£10.49 million) to leave the competition in their kung fu fighting wake.
In second place, it was a debut for breaking-up comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall, starring Knocked Up's Jason Segel and Spatan's Kristen Bell, followed by horror remake and last week's number one, Prom Night.
Another new entry, 88 Minutes with screen legend Al Pacino (Godfather trilogy, Scarface) and Band of Brothers' Neil McDonough was in at number four, ahead of Jodie Foster-shows-her-funny-side-fest Nim's Island at five.
Casino con story 21 rolled in at six, while Keanu Reeves action flick Street Kings saw its second week box office crash by 38 per cent to leave it in seventh place.
Animated treat Dr Seuss' Horton Hears A Who! is the top grossing movie on the chart at eight, having pulled in over $144 million.
It was followed at nine by documentary Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, while George Clooney flick Leatherheads brings up the rear at ten.
