Explicit sex flick shocks Cannes
"Nine Songs" contains graphic real sex scenes between the only two characters in the film, and breaks new ground by showing forms of sexual activity never previously seen on the big screen.
The controversial film stars Margo Stilley, a 21-year-old American student, and Kieran O'Brien, a 31-year-old British actor who has previously appeared in TV show "Cracker".
Running for 65 minutes and produced by Andrew Eaton, "Nine Songs" has yet to be awarded a certificate by British censors, and may never be released in this country.
But despite many critics coming away from the film in shock, producer Eaton has defended his project.
"It's not porn because there's no abusive sex - they play a couple in love," he said in the Sun newspaper.
"Sex books are explicit, so why not films?"
