Sarah Marshall wins hearts at box officeThe break-up comedy took over £2.14 million since opening in the UK to debut at number one, comfortably ahead of fellow new entry The Eye, a thriller starring Jessica Alba. Together they pushed previous box office king 21 with Kevin Spacey and Jim Sturgess down to third place. Rom-com adventure Fool's Gold - starring newly-crowned People magazine's Most Beautiful Person in the World Kate Hudson - was at four, while joyfully black comedy In Bruges spent its eighth week on the chart at number five. Heart-warming Brit-com Son Of Rambow laughed all the way to the number six slot, ahead of new entry Deception - starring Ewan McGregor and Hugh Jackman - at seven. Action flick Street Kings was at eight, closely followed by family hit The Spiderwick Chronicles, which stars Nick Nolte, Mary-Louise Parker and Freddie Highmore of The Golden Compass. Finally, Mike Leigh's chirpy slice-of-life drama Happy-Go-Lucky had something to smile about, celebrating its second week on the chart at number ten.
