Ant and Dec to hit the big screen

Diminutive Geordie duo Ant and Dec are set to move to the big screen.

The only experience cinema goers have of them to date is a cameo, playing themselves, in Brit flick "Love Actually"; but the pair are keen to take on a bigger role in an attempt to break America.

The pair began their careers as child stars on "Byker Grove" before moving into a brief pop career firstly under character names "PJ and Duncan" and later under their own names. After being voted the nation's top TV hosts they are looking to fill in the only gap in their entertainment CV, a film career.

After searching for an ideal script they have reportedly settled on "The Truth About Guys", a US-friendly romantic comedy.

"The Truth About Guys" will be penned by Andy Watts, author of ITV sitcom "My Parents Are Aliens".

Filming is set to begin next year.
