Bennifer win big at the Razzies
The Razzies are always held the day before the Oscars, with no red carpet and absolutely no stars in attendance at the ceremony.
The only actor who has ever turned up to collect an award in the show's 24-year history is Tom Green for his howler Freddy Got Fingered.
The biggest contenders for this year's awards were Gigli and The Cat in the Hat, starring Mike Myers in the adaptation of the classic Dr Seuss tale.
Gigli swept the board, walking away with six awards, including worst actor, worst actress and worst screen couple for Mr Affleck and Ms Lopez. The film's director Martin Brest received the worst director and worst screenplay awards.
Gigli sees Ms Lopez play a lesbian assassin sent to help Mr Affleck, a thug on a kidnap mission, but things go wrong when they begin to fall in love. Critics universally panned the movie and audiences stayed away. The film duly won the worst picture award.
The Cat in the Hat was named and shamed in the new category of Worst Excuse for an Actual Movie.
But there was no escaping the fact that Gigli took away an even bigger haul than last year's big "winner" - Madonna and Guy Ritchie's Swept Away.
