Sandler joins Hollywood's greatest
The famous hand and foot print ceremony took place outside the legendary Grauman's Chinese Theatre.
Sandler has amassed a staggering lifetime US box-office gross of over $1 billion, thanks in no small part to comedy hits such as Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy and Big Daddy.
His earlier career had involved four seasons starring on Saturday Night Live.
His latest film, The Longest Yard, is due for release at the end of this month in the US, and will appear on UK cinema screens in October.
The film will be directed by Peter Segal, director of Naked Gun 33 1/3 and Nutty Professor II.
Segal has worked with Sandler previously, when directing Anger Management and 50 First Dates.
A strong cast includes Boogie Nights star Burt Reynolds and Chris Rock, the comedian who recently wrote, directed and starred in Head Of State, and also featured opposite Anthony Hopkins in Bad Company.
