Curtain comes up on Schwimmer's West End debut
Schwimmer, who has lent his voice to a new Dreamworks animation film, Madagascar, alongside Ben Stiller, Chris Rock and Sacha Baron Cohen, plays the lead role in the comedy staged at the Gielgud Theatre.
He stars opposite actress Saffron Burrows, who recently played the role of Andromaque in the epic movie Troy, as well as starring in shark thriller Deep Blue Sea in 1999.
Burrows is also set to appear in Klimt, a new film about the Austrian artist, alongside John Malkovich.
The play tells the story of a teacher, played by Schwimmer, who visits four former lovers before he is due to get married.
He joins a growing list of Hollywood celebrities plying their trade in London over the coming months, including Brooke Shields, who is currently appearing in Chicago, Kevin Spacey, Ewan McGregor and Val Kilmer.
