Violent & Over The Top

I like long movies, I like art house films, I like Oprah and Danny in films, but I just did not like this film. The gratuitous violence was really awful; things you wish you had never seen. The character of Beloved was over the top (probably the director's fault?). The plot had too many unanswered parts chopping their way through it. I should not have to read a book to get something worthwhile out of a movie. This was not worth my while.
