Timeless anime that helped kick off western interest in the genre in a big way. Biggest change in the HD feature is the sound quality, it is amazing. Marginal improvements in visual quality leave it still a stunning feature.
With its dark portrayal of a broken Neo-Tokyo society with biker gangs, scientists playing god and people with super-human powers this remains equally as watchable now as it did in the late 80s - not a lot of films yet alone anime titles can say the same!
