The Best Ever?? Really?
31st October 2012
Not that great and even boring at times. The cinema was full, some laughs, but not that much excitement.
The action sequences felt slow, strangly theatrical. Loads of wideshots - the dialogue was very very slow at times. And an odd choice of baddie - the whole gay thing was a bit much and the need to keep the women at home and the need to replace M with a more traditionall M disapointing. No one good turned out to be bad. The plot was even more straighforward than usually.
I have never been crazy about Mendes as a film director. He treats the screen as if it is a stage and his actors become very static and he barely ever cuts. I like action to have more action.
Impressive amount of sponsers and pre-opening hype though. Product placement all the way through. It filled the cinema.
