Ice Age

The three leading characters provide plenty of funny moments here and the animation is impressive but ‘Ice Age’ seems to fall short of greatness. The best thing about it may be the running gag about Scrat, a demented sabre-toothed squirrel who has a dangerous obsession with acorns. I may be in a minority of one for not liking modern American voices in the context of a story set in Paleolithic times and not liking the occasional use of music featuring electric instruments. Call me picky. I enjoyed ‘Ice Age’ but not quite enough to want to see at the sequels.
