Christian Bale has confirmed what we all suspected; disappointingly he won’t be back on the big-screen in the Bat cape again.
In an interview with Entertainment Inquirer, Bale revealed that he and director Chris Nolan have no intention of returning to Gotham City after The Dark Knight Rises.
He said: “I wrapped a few days ago so that will be the last time I’m taking that cowl off.
“I believe that the whole production wrapped yesterday, so it’s all done. Everything’s finished. It’s me and Chris – that will be the end of that Batman era.”
Bale also went onto speak in detail about his co-stars, including Anne Hathaway who faces immense pressure playing Selina Kyle and her feline alter-ego Catwoman.
He added: “In many ways, she has the hardest job. There are a number of people who feel that the Catwoman role has been defined previously. So, I always saw Anne’s role as being the toughest job of any of us.”
The Dark Knight Rises is released on 20 July 2012 – and we cannot wait.
