Christopher Nolan is sticking to what – and who – he knows best by recruiting another familiar face, namely Nestor Carbonell, in the third Batman instalment.
Carbonell – who is most famously known for his role as Richard Alpert in J.J. Abrams’s Lost - could be reprising his role as the Mayor of Gotham City, according to Variety.
Fans of the franchise will remember how, in The Dark Knight, the Mayor narrowly escaped the Joker’s assassination attempts thanks to officer Gordon (Gary Oldman). How his character will factor into Nolan’s sequel is yet to be revealed.
After rumours of Inception protege, Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s possible involvement in the project and news that Tom Hardy will be facing off with Christian Bale as Batman’s latest nemesis, it comes as no surprise that Carbonell could be involved.
Nolan has his gang of great actors at the ready, and we cannot wait…
The Dark Knight Rises is expected to commence filming in a couple of months, for a July 2012 release.
