Gary Oldman, who starred as Commissioner Gordon in The Dark Knight, has dropped a few hints about the direction that The Dark Knight Rises will take.
Oldman may be sworn to secrecy, but in an interview with MTV he revealed that Christopher Nolan ‘brings it back to Batman Begins’ – linking the plot of the final film to the first.
These suggestions support plot leaks revealed last week, which claimed that The League of Shadows, who played a part in Batman Begins, would be central in the new film.
Oldman also joked about the scale of secrecy surrounding the project, “I’m sworn to secrecy – they will kill me!
"What Bruce Wayne discovers about himself, what he learns about himself at the end of this one [will top off the trilogy]."
Nolan has said that The Dark Knight Rises will be the last film in his Batman saga, so a return to Batman Begins would bring closure to the overarching plot.
If Oldman’s enthusiasm is anything to go by, signs look good for the project. He added: "I haven’t seen the script yet, I know the story though – and it’s a great story!"
