Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles may be making their way on to the big screen once again courtesy of director Jonathan Liebesman.
The Battle: Los Angeles director is in negotiations to reboot the franchise in what will be a live-action take on the enduringly popular 80’s children’s comic book and television series.
The ninja reptiles, famously named after renaissance painters, will be back fighting off their arch-nemesis Shredder under the guidance of their omniscient rat sensei Splinter – and you can count on a lot of pizza along the way too.
The latest iteration will be penned by Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol’s Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, although plot details are currently being kept secret.
Liebesman’s upcoming Wrath of the Titans will hit cinemas at the end of March after which he will sift through projects that include adaptations of Greek and Roman epics.
With that, it remains unseen whether this project will actually take off, but the prospect is extremely exciting.
