The follow-up to last summer’s hit X-Men: First Class, is at last underway with director Matthew Vaughn signing on to helm the sequel.

According to a report on Deadline, “Fox has just closed a deal with Matthew Vaughn to come back and direct the sequel to X-Men: First Class, with Simon Kinberg writing the script and Bryan Singer back as producer”.

There is still no word however on when this project will start shooting, and whether James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence will find the time to sign on the dotted line, as they are juggling busy schedules.

And then there is Vaughn himself who is currently involved in multiple projects. It could be a long time coming...
