Michael Bay has bitten the bullet and publicly admitted the shortcomings of Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.
In an interview with Empire, Bay referred to the sequel as “crap”.
He admitted: “We made some mistakes...the real fault with [Transformers 2] is that it ran into a mystical world.
“When I look back at it, that was crap. The writers’ strike was coming hard and fast. It was just terrible to do a movie where you’ve got to have a story in three weeks.”
He blamed the script for problems with the film explaining, “It’s a BS way to make a movie; do you know what I’m saying?”
Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura defended the film against some of the critical onslaught: “Critics have missed the boat on a very simple thing: audiences love to be entertained. People just ganged up on it.”
Conveniently Bay's comments come just as publicity for the latest film in the franchise, Dark of the Moon, has begun hotting up...
