Steven Moffat recently disclosed more details about the upcoming Doctor Who movie adaptation.
Choosing Twitter for the job, Moffat reassured fans that the adaptation will indeed stay true to the BBC TV show, unlike fears that were speculating otherwise.
"To clarify: any Doctor Who movie would be made by the BBC team, star the current TV Doctor and certainly NOT be a Hollywood reboot" he tweeted.
Despite it being unclear whether Moffat was referring to Matt Smith, it is still a relief to hear that the movie will stay in line with the TV show and shall remain in the hands of the BBC.
Director David Yates also shed some light on the project and the stage it is currently at.
Speaking to MTV at the BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards, he stated, “we’re principally looking for a writer, and we’ll start with that. Everything has to start with a great script, so that’s more important than [casting]”.
The Harry Potter helmer also underlined that the project is still some time away by saying, “it’s a long journey and we’re going to take our time with it”.
