Rachel Weisz could be returning to her action roots in a new spin-off of the Bourne series.
Last week it was announced that Rachel Weisz could be starring in Oz: The Great and Powerful with James Franco and Mila Kunis. Now it seems as if she may have to free up some time in her schedule, as the actress is in serious talks to star in the Robert Ludlum-adapted Bourne franchise - according to Deadline.
While Oz begins shooting this summer, production is set to start on The Bourne Legacy in September, which creates something of a scheduling conflict; Weisz may find herself having to choose between the two films.
Jeremy Renner – twice Oscar-nominated for The Hurt Locker and The Town – is rumoured to follow in Matt Damon’s illustrious footsteps as a new government operative, who has come out of an even more dangerous programme than Jason Bourne.
There are no details yet as to what Weisz’s role may be in the Tony Gilroy directed film, but no doubt it will be a fiesty female role.
