2011’s blockbuster Source Code will be adapted into a television series, unbeknownst to director Duncan Jones.
The sci-fi thriller, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and directed by David Bowie's son Jones, has been bought by CBS, who plan to develop into a running television series.
Jones expressed his shock at the news on Twitter: “For those asking, I know not a sausage about the Source Code TV show. First time I heard about it was about 20 minutes ago… on twitter!”
Similar to the film, the show follows three ex- federal agents who are part of a classified program who use the “Source Code” technology to leap in to the consciousness of individuals involved in catastrophic events.
Mark Gordon is set to produce the series, with Philippe Rousselet (Lord of War) serving as a consulting producer. Steve Maeda who has previously worked on episodes of Lost and CSI Miami will write the series.
