LucasFilms is gearing up for the release of the Star Wars trilogy on Blu-ray with an exciting new trailer detailing deleted scenes from the first three films.
The video, which can be seen on YouTube, opens with a CGI light saber scribing the Blu-ray logo into the screen, before moving onto a montage of scenes accompanied by John Williams’ score to The Empire Strikes Back.
Fans of the franchise will be treated to the complete never-before-seen footage when the films arrive on Blu-ray in September.
LucasFilms’ decision to release Star Wars in high definition comes in advance of their plan to convert the original trilogy into 3D – a development which is slated for February 2012.
Fox has confirmed that fans who pre-order Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray will receive a limited edition Star Wars film cell with their copy.
Star Wars is released on Blu-ray on 12 September 2011.
