Casting for Superman: Man of Steel begins

The hunt for a new Superman is on, and he could well be someone you’ve never heard of.

The Warner Bros studio, producer Chrisopher Nolan and director Zack Snyder are said to be casting a ‘wide net’ to find a new Superman,

According to Deadline the studio is open to creating a star for Superman: Man of Steel. It’s likely that the actor will either be a brand new talent or a TV star who isn't well known yet, and aged between 28-to-32.

Potential Clark Kent material is Armie Hammer, the 6'5" actor who played the Winklevoss twins in The Social Network, although at only 24 he may be too young. Looking at stars of the small screen, True Blood's good guy werewolf Joe Manganiello; the 34-year-old has apparently claimed he's being considered for the role.

Hundreds of young actors will be taken into consideration before a decision is made. The film is expected to begin production in June 2011.
