It was a royal evening for Colin Firth and co. last night as The King’s Speech wiped the floor with seven gongs at the Orange British Academy Film Awards.
The Brit film took home accolades for Best Film, Outstanding British Film, Original Screenplay, Leading Actor, Supporting Actress, Supporting Actor and Original Music.
But the noble drama didn’t conquer all areas; director Tom Hooper lost out to The Social Network’s David Fincher in the Best Director category.
Stars Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield took to the stage on behalf of Fincher, who was unable to attend the event due to prior commitments.
Other big-hitters on the night, included Chris Morris with his mockumentary Four Lions, Toy Story 3’s Lee Unkrich and Natalie Portman took home the Best Actress gong for psychological ballet drama, Black Swan.
