Jones lands theatre award
Tony Award-winning actor James Earl Jones is set to receive a prestigious prize for his stage work from the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center.
The Star Wars legend will receive the organisation's coveted Monte Cristo Award at a ceremony in May (11) in honour of his glittering theatre career, which has garnered him a clutch of accolades over the years including two Tony Awards.
The panel which awarded the honour to Jones was made up of famous faces including Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Alec Baldwin, as well as Jones' current Driving Miss Daisy co-star Vanessa Redgrave.
Jones will receive the honour at a gala in New York City on 9 May (11).
