McCarthy fears Oscars nod is a joke

Melissa Mccarthy is struggling to get used to her newfound success, admitting she keeps expecting to be told her Oscars nomination is a joke.

McCarthy held down several waitressing jobs for years before landing a string of TV roles, but her Hollywood career turned a corner last year (11) following the release of huge box office hit Bridesmaids.

She is up for the Best Supporting Actress accolade at the Academy Awards later this month (Feb12), but the star reveals she still worries about her film career.

McCarthy tells the Press Association, "I keep pinching myself and I really hope I don't get the call where someone goes 'kidding!'

"It makes me go back to my first acting classes and all those times you just think 'Oh, if I could just get a commercial I could go down to two jobs.'

"And I still have that mentality of 'Let me have a job!' And I think I'm going to have to go (and) wait tables again. I just always wanted to do work and I wanted to like it. And to have this (success) with something I like doing too is kind of an added bonus."
