The new movie adaptation of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy has fought off the competition to remain top of the box office chart for a second week running.
The spy drama, starring Colin Firth and Gary Oldman and based on John le Carre's book of the same name, retained the top spot with earnings of £2.1 million, ahead of Steve Carell and Julianne Moore's new romantic comedy, Crazy, Stupid, Love, which opened at number two with £860,112.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy has now grossed more than £6 million, making it the highest-ever earning film for its distributor, StudioCanal UK, according to Variety.com.
Ryan Gosling's Drive failed to accelerate past Warrior and The Inbetweeners movie at three and four respectively, grinding to a halt at number five.
