These FiLMEXTRA Scheme Terms, together with our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, govern your participation in, and use of, the FiLMEXTRA Scheme. By using the FiLMEXTRA Scheme and redeeming a FiLMEXTRA credit you agree to abide by these FiLMEXTRA Scheme Terms, as set out below.

  1. The FiLMEXTRA Scheme is only available to subscribers to LOVEFiLM who are selected by LOVEFiLM at LOVEFiLM's sole discretion.
  2. The number of FiLMEXTRA credits awarded, the timing of their award and the subscribers selected to receive them will be at the sole discretion of LOVEFiLM. Subscribers cannot apply for extra FiLMEXTRA credits. LOVEFiLM reserves the right to withdraw, amend or replace the FiLMEXTRA Scheme and any FiLMEXTRA credits at any time.
  3. The balance of FiLMEXTRA credits available to you at any time will be displayed on your Rental List and your Account Summary. Redeeming one FiLMEXTRA credit entitles you to receive one extra rental at no extra cost or, where notified to you, 2 viewing hours which can be used to watch a Film from our subscription watch online service (subject to the conditions below). The extra rental or additional viewing hours will not count as part of your allowance under your regular subscription package.
  4. If you chose to exchange your FiLMEXTRA credit for an additional rental you can keep the extra rental as long as you wish, just like your other discs - with no late fees.
  5. When you send back a rental or use up your viewing hours you will return to your normal subscription allowance. If you chose to exchange your FilmExtra credit for an additional rental you can send back any title to return to your normal "at home" limit.
  6. Subject to paragraph 2 above, your FiLMEXTRA credit(s) will be valid for a period of 365 days from the date on which they are awarded.
  7. You can only redeem one FiLMEXTRA credit at any time. Once a disc that you have received under the FiLMEXTRA Scheme has been returned to LOVEFiLM or viewing hours have been allocated you will then be able to redeem any other FiLMEXTRA credit that you have available.
  8. If any disc that you receive under the FiLMEXTRA Scheme is lost in the post or is returned in an unreasonable condition, then your payment method will be charged for this in accordance with LOVEFiLM's Terms and Conditions.
  9. Your FiLMEXTRA Credits are personal to you and cannot be transferred to, or redeemed by, any other subscriber.
  10. The nominal cash value of a FiLMEXTRA credit is £0.01. FiLMEXTRA credits cannot be exchanged for anything other than a free rental.
  11. The laws of England and Wales govern this promotion. The promoter is LOVEFiLM UK Limited, No. 9, 6 Portal Way, London W3 6RU.
  12. We reserve the right, from time to time, with or without notice to you, to change these Terms and Conditions at our sole discretion.

Frequently asked questions

What does my FiLMEXTRA credit get me? One FiLMEXTRA credit entitles you to redeem one extra rental whenever you like and will not count as part of your monthly subscription.

FiLMEXTRA credits can also be used in conjunction with our Watch Online service and, if appropriate, you will be given the opportunity to redeem your FiLMEXTRA credit for online viewing time when you attempt to watch a film online.
Full details of your monthly allowance to watch online as part of your DVD rental package can be {link:allowance|found here|View your monthly allowance}.Your monthly allowance is applied against the length (i.e. run time) of the title you select to watch online. For example, a 2 hour monthly allowance allows you to watch one film of 90 minutes and a TV episode of 25 minutes (which together equal 115 minutes). You could not watch another title exceeding 5 minutes in length until the following month or if you upgrade to a package with a higher monthly allowance. Once selected, you can watch the title as many times as you wish in a 48 hour period.
How long do I have to watch my extra disc? As long as you like, but please not that when we receive any of your discs back (even your 'normal' rentals), your account will return to your usual discs-at-home allowance.
How long is my FiLMEXTRA credit valid for? You can use your free credit anytime in the next 12 months so there's no rush to use it immediately - just save it for anytime that's convenient for you.
How do I use my FiLMEXTRA? Click on the "Use a credit now" button in your rental list. An extra disc will be sent with your next despatch (or within one working day), and will be the next available title on your list.
Can I specify which disc I want as my bonus? Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee which title will be sent, however, it will be something from your list. If you are using our multi-list feature you can decide which list you would like the extra disc to come from. Simply highlight your preferred list - this is whichever list is selected in the box at the top of your rental page - then redeem your credit. After you receive an extra disc, remember to change the selected list in that box back to the one you normally use.
When will my FiLMEXTRA rental be sent out? An extra disc will be sent out with your next despatch (or within one working day), and will be the next available title on your rental list.
How many FiLMEXTRA credits can I use at one time? You can use one credit at a time. Once you have redeemed a credit, you will be able to redeem any other FiLMEXTRA credits you have available.
How do I send my FiLMEXTRA disc back? Just like you usually do in a single return envelope, or along with another disc.
What happens if my FiLMEXTRA disc gets lost in the post or arrives damaged? The same rules that apply to our regular despatches will apply here. Please use the Report a problem link on your Rental list page to let us know the issue.
