How does the LOVEFiLM gift pack work?

The LOVEFiLM starter pack is designed to allow you to sample the world of online DVD rentals. To activate your gift pack, simply enter your 16 digit code and follow the sign up process. Then sit back and enjoy your rentals. The starter pack allows you to rent 8 DVDs in a 90 day period. If at the end of your starter pack, you wish to continue the service, you will then automatically transfer to the standard LOVEFiLM service, allowing you to rent 8 DVD Rentals in 90 days, 2 DVDs at a time for £14.99.

How does LOVEFiLM work?

You can keep your DVDs as long as you like: there are never any due dates or late fees. Sign up online, and choose which films you'd like to watch from our library of over 70,000 titles. We'll send you films via first class mail and you can have 2 films out at any one time. You can keep them as long as you want, and when you've finished, return them to us in the pre-paid envelope. When we get them back, we post your next available title within 1 working day.

Why do I have to enter my credit/debit card details?

We need to verify your identity and to make sure that you are over 18 years of age; it also covers us in case you don't return your discs.

What happens at the end of my gift pack?

At the end of your starter pack, you will automatically become a paying member unless you cancel your subscription and return any of our discs in your possession BEFORE your 9th rental or 90 day period, whichever comes sooner.

Why have I been asked to select at least 10+ DVDs when my gift pack is for 8 DVDs only?

Because a DVD title may not be immediately available, you will be asked to choose up to 10 DVD titles. The 8 movies you will receive within the 90 day starter pack will be taken from this wish list. Every effort will be made to send the DVDs in the priority order expressed on your wish list. At times this may not be possible due to a particular DVD's unavailability and in such instances an alternative film from your wish list will be dispatched!

How does the free postage work?

All our DVDs are sent out by first-class post and should be with you the day after they are shipped from our warehouse. We include a return envelope which is first-class postage pre-paid and printed with our return.

Gift Subscription Terms & Conditions

1. Enter your unique 16 digit card number found under the scratch panel on the back of your LOVEFiLM Gift Card.
2. This gift card entitles you to 8 DVD rentals. Rentals will be dispatched two at a time.
3. To register a valid credit card / debit card is required.
4. Once registered, 8 DVD rentals must be redeemed within 90 days.
5. Upon expiry of your gift card, you will automatically become a paying member unless you cancel your subscription and return any of our discs in your possession BEFORE your 9th rental, or 90 day period, whichever is the sooner.
6. Your gift card is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.
7. Your gift card must be redeemed in one transaction, this card cannot be reloaded after initial top up.
8. This card cannot be exchanged for cash or vouchers.
9. Please protect this card and treat it as cash as it cannot be returned if lost or stolen.
10. LOVEFiLM will not be responsible for any unauthorised use of this card.
