Brief synopsis of MySims

EA has brought its classic Sims series to Nintendo, and with it, a huge dash of Nintendo accessibility and wholesomeness. Not that the Sims needed much by way of additional wholesomeness, but it certainly seems to be a natural fit with Nintendo.

In MySims, players are charged with dragging a town from a state of general decrepitude to being a lovely place to spend an afternoon.

To kick things off, players will build their character. A wide range of items are available to customise characters, with players able to create looks ranging from the more conventional (baseball cap and pigtails) to the downright grungy (dreadlocks and mohawks). Once you've got your character up and running, it'll be time to get to work.

The town's going to need sorting out, for one. It's pretty rundown, but with a bit of elbow grease and a touch of Nintendo control wizadry, players will be able to get it ship-shape in no time. Using a set of building blocks and tools, players will be able to to build anything from a piece of furniture right up to a brand new home!

Of course, it wouldn't be a Sims game if you weren't going to spend a bit of time with the folk around you. Among the locals you'll find the ever-busy Mayor Rosalyn P. Marshall, the less-busy hotel Bellhop, Gino Delicioso, the Italian Chef and Ocean Breeze, who wants to set up a Yoga studio.

I bought this game and couldn't put it down for weeks! Similar to the usual sims you have to build the town and do mini tasks to earn money and attract tourists. The animations are brillant a must have game.

This is difficult to review - simply because there is better.

There is a very similar game out - but one which is vastly superior in it's breadth - Animal Crossing. A Japanese game, containing similar 'cute-rating', but a real sandbox game.

In comparison, it's a poor relative - and this is hard to compare even as neither of these are really 'games' in the full sense.

Animal Crossing you live the game rather than play it - and I know adults sort of addicted to this. Mysims - well, it's sorta similar - but there aren't going to be any adults who want to play this after one day - and that is the difference. A cute game which holds the attention of adults - even adult males - that takes some doing.

If AC didn't exist - this would be innovative. As it stands, it's like the Monkees and the Beatles - you know what I mean - one isn't too bad if the other never existed.

A good game which both the children and adults enjoyed, however, the adults felt the gameplay was rather limited. Think would probably offer more enjoyment on a different game platform to get more details. Overall a good game though.

Not bad, but time needed to get fully into the game.
