Brief synopsis of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

It doesn't matter what century it is. Democracy has its enemies, and from time to time those enemies need shooting at.

With that in mind, Infinity Ward has taken its ever popular Call of Duty series out of the 1940s and World War II and into the modern era. You might have left behind the moral comfort to be had from knowing you're fighting Nazis, but now you get to play with all kinds of fancy modern doodads.

Fighting as a U.S. Marine or a British SAS soldier, you'll travel the world, dropping into troubled hotspots through a twisting and turning story to defend truth, justice andwell, whatever qualifies as the American way these days.

The DS version makes use of the touch screen and stylus to create unique ways to construct explosives, disarm traps and perform hand to hand combat. See, the stylus isn't just for performing cute puzzle-type tasks, it can be used to defend democracy too!

Of course, it wouldn't be a modern Call of Duty game without multiplayer, so the game features wireless functionality that enables up to four players to jump into the fray and fight the enemies of freedom.

my son used this and was really looking forward to it. What a dissapointment. He tried to play it but the screen was way to dark to notice things properly. He gave up after about 10 mins.

Has some issues when aiming down sight,as you have to double tap the touch screen but when your lifting of the stylus at times you tend to aim down sight by mistake.

Nice enough GFX for the ds,and some excellent sound and speech.

Also the enemy soldiers take massive amounts of bullets before they die!!!?? unless you headshot.

Worth a rental, Not a purchase.

I bought Call of Duty 4 for three consoles. Pc, excellent worth a buy, Ps3/Xbox again brilliant! But the DS, Its so poor. It take a whole magazine maybe more to kill a single enemy! The graphics are bad, very dark at times unless u have a DS Lite, but otherwise ok for DS. The way you change to us a grenade is too slow. There is no way that this game could be played will a little skill. It takes so long to take your grenade out, the enemy is gone! And there is no freedom, each level is strict and tight, no choices to make or anything. And even hard mode the enemies are bad. Although multiplayer is great fun, but single card play needs more maps and guns. Worth rental if you have more than one child with a DS and they both love the Call Of Duty franchise, otherwise not worth rental or buy!
