Brief synopsis of The Kill Point

Award-winning actor John Leguizamo is ''Mr. Wolf,'' an Iraq war veteran who leads his ex-platoon on a daring bank heist. But when the robbery goes tragically wrong, the onetime soldier has no choice but to take hostages. Going head-to-head with Mr. Wolf is ''Horst Cali'' (Donnie Wahlberg), a no-nonsense hostage negotiator who refuses to back down. What follows is a thrilling match of wits and guts between two men who both have something to prove and everything to lose. PLEASE NOTE 2 DISCS SHOULD BE SENT TOGETHER

In case you haven't realised (and the description hardly makes this clear), this is a mini-series of 8 episodes, supplied on two discs. It's not a movie as such.

If, like me, you sat down to watch this expecting a polished Hollywood affair, the low-budget, obviously made-for-TV opening might disappoint. It did me.

However, stick with it until the second or third episode and things do improve. Whilst you begin to wonder 'how on earth are the writers going to make this story last for 8 episodes?' they do actually manage to pull it off.

I'll leave the discussion of the story to someone else, but I will say this - all the characters need to go back to a firing range. There are many occasions where both sides in a gun-battle are armed with automatic weapons and a seemingly endless supply of ammunition. But, despite firing at each other at near point-blank range, no-one seems to get hit. Amazing...

i am gobsmacked at how good this is. the story should have run out of gas way before the end but it doesnt & the writers seem to have squeezed every last drop from the scenario.this grips from the moment you hit play & doesnt let up i watched all 8 episodesd in 1 night
