Rated - 3 starsblame the twist

Picktokyo Picktokyo from London, England [Highly rated reviewer] , 20/10/2008

I don't know, or willing to explain how a super computer, high end CIA intelligence went nuts and tried to destroy everything. But you should know the twist from the beginning, not really witty, or a darned fresh idea. It is also quite draggy and take you to exhaustion or boredom after you actually have discover the twist. It has it flaws, but still, this movie can get away with its good art direction and action.

Rated - 3 starsFast paced action from beginning to end!

A customer from SW London , 22/10/2008

I agree with the previous reviewer: it's a little hard to believe how a government computer has the intelligence (or the programming) to decide what is right or wrong and act accordingly. Basically it's the story of how 2 unrelated strangers are bought together and forced to carry out terrorist activity for the mastermind computer 'Ariel' (I think it's called).Basically because some top chiefs ignored the computers information and decided to go ahead on a hit, the computer decides it time to wipe out the current government and replace it with a more effective one. Monaghan and Shia's characters are simple pawns in the whole game, but in the end are the keys to stopping Ariel (with other government key players). The plot is therefore far fetched and deeply flawed, however I cannot fault the non stop action from beginning to end.So for that reason I give the film a 3, because it kept me gripped to the screen right till the end.

Rated - 4 starsBIG SISTER

A customer from EALING , 26/10/2008

This is science fiction set in the not too distant future. It is also fair comment on the present US administration reaction to terrorism and it's real actions. I felt I was in a video game some of the time, great special effects but hey film makers, isn't it time we dispensed with people emerging unhurt from these horrendous car crashes, sending wrong messages to immortally minded youth! The plot was great and I felt calm through all the tension. The attack on the eye that disabled the computer was unrealistic and let the rest of the film down.I was disappointed the regime change didn't take place as the computer seemed to have human welfare more at heart than the government. I hated that tacked on Hollywood ending.

Rated - 3 starsNot fantastic but worth renting

A customer from London , 30/10/2008

I watched this on IMAX and what a mistake. The film didn't cover the full screen and the action scenes, specially the car chasing one, was made with a shaky cam so you had no idea what was happenning. I'm sorry but I want to see it clear, I want to see the near misses in crystal quality not from the eye of the passenger because that's a waste of my money and it looks cheap.
