Though the series may be a trifle dated for the 'noughties', Rumpole still stands proud in its place as one of the most delightful pieces of television of its time.
In my humble opinion, it is his use of language and quotations, the irreverent silent asides and his total disregard for convention that have me chuckling away gently.
