Brief synopsis of Office, The - An American Workplace [US] - Season 3

The Office: An American Workplace is back with Season 3! Ricky Gervais' critically acclaimed and multi-award winning The Office is taken across the pond. This unique comedy series offers a smart, tongue-in-cheek documentary-style look at the humorous, and sometimes poignant, banality of the 9-to-5 white-collar work world.

The Office: An American Workplace takes a painfully funny look at the interactions of the cubicle jockeys at Dunder Mifflin paper supply company in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Golden Globe winner Steve Carell (The 40-Year Old Virgin) stars as unctuous regional manager Michael Scott who hosts the documentary crew on a tour of the workplace. Jenna Fischer (Walk Hard), John Krasinski (Jarhead, Kinsey), Rainn Wilson (Six Feet Under), and B.J. Novak (Punk'd) star as the employees who tolerate Michael's inappropriate behavior only because he signs their paychecks.

Season 3 of The Office, what can I say! The US version I feel has taken the office to a new level…. It is absolutely amazing. The acting is absolutely fantastic, the characters are great and it’s a well-balanced show. Season 3 is the top quality- and it would be difficult to be better than what it is! After a Poor season 1 and a good season 2, I think Season 3 establishes the show as one of the greatest modern comedy shows in history! So watch them in order, just keep faith with it…. It gets better and better!

If you can get past the poor first series where they try and reversion the UK episodes and start developing independent story lines for the US characters it really comes into it's own. The format is similar to the UK one but with less of a 'reality' look. The David Brent character is much easier to like and feel sorry for and dare I say it but I think I prefer the character of Dwight over Gareth. Sacrilegious I know but, I think I prefer the US version to the UK one and it keeps getting better and better with each series.
