Brief synopsis of Sixth Sense, The - BLU-RAY Version

Dr. Malcolm Crowe (Willis) is a successful child psychologist who is shaken by the sudden reappearance and suicide of a former patient. Months later Crowe encounters Cole Sear (Osment), a troubled young boy who bears a similarity to his earlier patient. Dr. Crowe must try to save Cole, not only for the boy's sake, but for his own redemption. But is Cole merely disturbed or are there greater forces at work

Powerful and emotive drama based around a child psychologist, Malcolm Crow(Bruce Willis), and Cole Sear played by Hayley Joe Osment. The film takes 2 points of view. One from Malcolm Crow and the other from Cole Sear. When you see the ghosts it is from Cole's point of view and when you see it from Crow's point of view you don't see the ghosts. However, the production and direction team have laid down certain rules regarding the interactivity between ghost and human in the film. These are very well kept to and can only find fault in some parts of plot interactivity. The film was a hit when it was originally released. The reason for this was the fact that it asked the viewer as many questions as it answered. I bought the original dvd in region 1 because it was released in the states 3 months before being released over here in the UK. In other words while people were watching it in the cinema I was watching it at home.

The most difficult parts were played by the women in the film- Toni Collet(Murrials Wedding) and Olivia Williams(The Postman). They had to interact with Cole while ignoring the ghostly other parts of the film. This is still Bruce Willis's most poweful role to date.

The film quality presents well in Blu-Ray and has had Specural wash instead of a digital one. The extras are well presented but can in some cases be long winded. I have often dusted off my original dvd to watch but with the advent of Blu-Ray I cannot watch the film on my High end DVD because of region coding. The Deleted scenes are worth a watch because they offer an extension of the story in some senses.

The only part I would say looked compressed was the sound. I heard a few dead spots creep in in 5.1 but definitely worth a watch and although not a religous man myself this one finds its way into my good book as a collectors item.
