Brief synopsis of Fashion Victims

Karsten and his father Wolfgang are at loggerheads. Karsten wants to go on a school trip abroad, but Wolfgang insists he stay behind and help him with his dreary job supplying dowdy clothes to local fashion outlets. When spunky and devious workaholic Steven shows up, he plans to undercut Wolfgang's prices and steal all his customers with a spiffy range of upmarket garments. Wolfgang and Steven go to battle, attempting to woo as many clothes shops as they can to stay in the business, but when Karsten and Steven fall in love, and Wolfgang's wife Erika discovers his financial mismanagement, all hell breaks loose.

Teenager (7/10 eye candy) has to stay home (miss a holiday) and drive his father around. I think the film may have been intended as a comedy... (not subtle).

Oh and there's a bit of vague coming out / first love.

The best thing? Depiction of gruesome middle class Germanic taste (10/10). Belly laugh.

Maybe it was just me, but the teenager's love interest seemed like a total b*****d. (And there are not many sympathetic characters come to think of it.)

There might just be a little 'so awful it's fun' about this...

But probably you may have something better to do.

It could have been great if they had pushed the farce a bit more, but the overiding sense of failure in this film extends to the film itself. I don't see comedy in failure, not even if there is redemption at the end. Sorry.
