Brief synopsis of Firestarter 2

Charlie McGhee (Marguerite Moreau) has grown into a beautiful young woman. She still does not have control over her ability to channel her emotions into flame, though. She also is not free from a corporate goon squad who seek the girl who they have given these powers to. She is again joined by Rainbird (played this time by Malcolm McDowell) in her attempts to control her rage, and henceforth her power to set anything in her path aflame. Also joining them are others who have similar freakish powers also bestowed upon them by the scientific experiments of an evil corporation.
This sequel to the 1984 film based on Stephen King's novel follows a sexy Charlie through a four hour mini series that was originally shown on the Sci-Fi Channel. Loaded with pyrotechnics, flashbacks, and a new group of afflicted children, REKINDLED has as much in common with CARRIE and X-MEN than the original film starring Drew Barrymore.

Rated - 2 starsInteresting, but fails to impress

I really wanted to like this! I'm a fan of the first, but I never let things like that influence my opinion of a sequel without original stars. It had some great parts, great actors, great visuals....but it fell flat overall. It's not bad to watch though, it was nice to see what happened next to the main character. I just would have liked to have seen more from a plot with such amazing potential.

Having not seen the first 'Firestarter' film, Im not too sure how good in retrospect this one really is.. But nonetheless, it is actually, very good! Some seriously nice women in it, along with a 'nearly-always' believable plot to follow!.

Definitely worth a look-see, but you might think differently!!

As oppose to the 1st firestarter this one carries on from that explaining what went on in the first throughout although Charlie McGee is played by a different little girl (no Drew Barrymore) as in the 1st.

This movie tells the story of Charlie (now a young woman) living life on the run from those who were after her in the 1st.

Although this one is quite long (approx 2 1/2 hours) I quite enjoyed it.

~Like in some sequels, with this one you don't need to watch the 1st one to understand what's going on
