Brief synopsis of Transformers - BLU-RAY Version

Based on the Hasbro toy line that initially captivated kids in the 1980s, director Michael Bay's TRANSFORMERS finds two warring bands of shape-shifting alien robots renewing their intergalactic conflict on Earth. While the Decepticons, followers of the malevolent Megatron (voiced by Hugo Weaving), strive to take over the planet, the Autobots, led by the valiant Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen), are intent on protecting humanity. When young Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) discovers that his new car is really the Autobot Bumblebee (voiced by Mark Ryan), it sets the stage for a massive giant-robot showdown. A shining example of the Hollywood summer blockbuster at its best, TRANSFORMERS combines stunning CGI effects and thrilling action sequences with drama, humor, and a touch of romance. Featuring a large cast that includes Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Jon Voight, John Turturro, Anthony Anderson, and Rachael Taylor, the film is anchored by LaBeouf, who always displays an engaging Everyman charm, whether he’s running from colossal robots, interacting with his well-meaning parents (hilariously played by Kevin Dunn and Julie White), or pining for his gorgeous classmate (Megan Fox). While some TRANSFORMERS purists may be dismayed by certain aspects of this bold big-screen adaptation (Bumblebee is a Camaro instead of a Volkswagen), the movie balances its spectacle with an admirable amount of substance, giving it an appeal far beyond pre-teen boys and their nostalgic Autobot-loving elders.

I owned this title on HD-DVD and it was amazing. Now its coming to Blu-Ray it makes life in front of the tele just that bit more special. With Tru HD 7.1 and a much crispier picture makes this the Blu-Ray release of the summer. Plot is not as good as other films but special effects are amazing. In true 1080p this film Jumps out at you. The bigger the screen the better the experiance. Glass smashing, Transformers fighting and big explossions will put your surround sound to the test, Maybe the bricks and malta that also hold your house up. This title will be added to my collection of blu-ray titles and can not wait for the second one to be released next summer.

I seriously enjoyed this film in standard def, but after watching it on blu ray I can tell you that the tru hd 7.1 surround sound coupled with 1080p crisp quality picture, truly knocks the socks off standard dvds. I would highly recommend this title to anyone who enjoys the thrill of the action and unprecidented quality. Truly king of all that is blu(best blu ray ever).5 out of 5. ENJOY!

Have seen this before but not on blu-ray. It does make all the difference to be fair. As an eighties child i grew up with transformers and to have to made now into a proper live action film is absolutley brilliant. With most michael bay films its graphical superb and very flashy but the story was a bit weak really. Depends what you go for if its a big blockbuster then this is it, if its to be informed then er no.
