Halliwell's Film Guide

A remake of Disney's The Incredible Journey with human voices added for the animals, in the manner of the Look Who's Talking films; speech adds a feeling of unreality to the proceedings, but probably young audiences will not mind.

my 9 year old daughter Bethany loved this film. the story is about three heroic animals who are voiced by Don Ameche, Michael J Fox, and Sally Field. They don't actually speak ie. moving their mouths, but we hear their 'voices' as the lost household pets--Shadow the golden retriever, Chance the bulldog, and Sassy the cat.

Chance, Shadow and Sassy's lives are torn apart, when their owners move into a small apartment, and are forced to leave their pets with a family friend.

the three animals run away from their make do home, in a bid to finding their loving owners, and this film takes you through, all their entertaining, and sometimes tragic adventures.

You'll love Sassy the Cat, as she has all the best lines. Sassy is really bossy and fusses over what she looks like.

Shadow is a rather old fashioned, well behaved kind of dog, and it nearly made my daughter Bethany cry, when he fell down a mine shaft at the railway station.

Chance the bulldog is very funny. his funniest moment is when, he is afraid of the turkey.

my daughter is a real animal lover, and this film pushes all the right buttons, for people who adore animals.

this film is well worth renting out.

... but then what is these days? It kept my 2 daughters reasonably entertained and was worth watching just to see my father-in-law shed a couple of tears at the end (I always knew he was an old softy).
