I loved this game from the second i started playing it. I downloaded the demo not having a clue about it, played and couldn't put the controller down.

The graphics really suite the game, i love the idea of how the boost affect what tricks you do, the tricks are awesome and the racing aspect is sik!

I would definatly say buy if not rent. Can't wait to try it with my friends on the full game.

First of all, I rented Pure as a result of the demo, which hooked me instantly by blending SSX Tricky with arcadey racing gameplay. So, having completed the game, I'm left a little disappointed.

First of all, the handling seems to have been tweaked from Mario Kart to Colin McRae Rally. This is fine for the early part of the game, but I soon found myself sliding wide round every corner as the AI opponents neatly passed on the inside. To get past this you need to spend some time in the garage, which you have to revisit every time you want to put in an upgraded part. Nice idea, but ultimately a bit of a waste of time.

Pure's biggest problem is that the player is human. We all make mistakes, but here, one mistake can undo 5 minutes hard work. Nothing more depressing than hitting a jump only for the game to dump you on a rock, causing a crash that takes you from 1st to 7th or erases that minute-long freestyle combo. The restart button becomes your best friend as you keep re-doing the first ten seconds of the race to stand any chance of placing in the medals.

Having said this, the demo gives you an indication of whether you'll put up with these issues to enjoy the gameplay, which when it clicks, is a wild ride through some exotic locations that is quite simply good fun.

P.S. I couldn't get a LIVE session going, after 3 separate attempts on different days I only saw one other person on there. So I gave up and got straight into a Bad Company match.
